Sasso d'Ombrone is a village in Tuscany, central Italy, administratively a frazione of the comune of Cinigiano, province of Grosseto. At the time of the 2001 census its population amounted to 300.〔 (Popolazione residente - Grosseto (dettaglio loc. abitate) - Census 2001 ), Istat〕 Sasso d'Ombrone is about 33 km from Grosseto and 8 km from Cinigiano, and it is situated along the road which links Cinigiano to the ''Cipressino'' Provincial Road at Paganico, on a hill in the valley of Ombrone. Formerly known as ''Sasso di Maremma'', the village was born in the 13th century as a castle of the Aldobrandeschi.
